1 Poland Sees Nothing Wrong in Cluster Bombs 2008

http://wyborcza.pl/1,86871,5674037,Poland_Sees_Nothing_Wrong_in_Cluster_Bombs.html

If Polish troops at Nangar Khel had used cluster munitions, there would have been no witnesses of the fatal operation, says a domestic producer of cluster munitions. Poland doesn't intend, for now at least, to sign the Dublin Convention prohibiting their us.

The convention, prohibiting the trade, production and use of cluster munitions has been endorsed by over 100 countries so far, including major EU member states such as France, the UK, Germany, or Netherlands. It is to be formally signed in Oslo in December. From then on, the signatory countries' armed forces will stop using the highly imprecise munitions, which, if they don't explode at once, can kill innocent people even years later. Poland hasn't endorsed the convention and is also a producer of cluster bombs.

They are made by a defence plant called Kraśnik, and can be viewed at the company's stand at the Defence Industry Salon in Kielce.

'We make cluster munitions for two kinds of missiles - 98 mm mortar and 122 mm artillery. They can be launched from a tank gun or a cannon', says Kraśnik chief executive Dariusz Szlafka.

'Polish troops at Nangar Khel in Afghanistan had mortar missiles with cluster munitions. Officers later said that if they had used them, there wouldn't have been any witnesses of the massacre. Why? Because the whole village would have ceased to exist'.

Mr Szlafka presents a missile. Inside there is a rail, and around it, smaller casings filled with explosive. The 98 mm missile has nine of these, the 122 mm one - fifteen.

'It's so powerful it can destroy an infantry unit, a building, a vehicle, even puncture a runway', stresses Mr Szlafka. 'The primary missile explodes above the target. The distance can be set by the cannon operator and depending on it, the submunitions cover a greater or smaller area. A single submunition covers an estimated 100 sq m. Besides exploding, cluster bombs consume oxygen, killing those who have survived the explosion itself'.

Mr Szlafka again quotes soldiers: 'You can perhaps survive in a building, but no one would want to be out in the open during a shelling'.

How much cluster munitions does Kraśnik produce? 'Not much, but I can't say precisely', says Mr Szlafka. 'Let me only say it's about 10 percent of what the army buys as conventional weapons. Because this is not a training weapon. You only take it to missions, and even there it's used very seldom. Besides, it's expensive. A single one costs more than PLN10,000'.

Mr Szlafka stresses that his company's only customer are the Polish armed forces. He also adds that over 99 percent of cluster munitions explode right after being fired. Those that do not represent, according to him, just 0.1 percent of the total.

Defence Minister Bogdan Klich, asked by Gazeta in Kielce why Poland hasn't endorsed the Dublin Convention, said laconically, 'This isn't just a whim. We need those weapons to defend our territory. In fact, a debate has been going on about this type of munitions'.

The military sees nothing wrong in using cluster bombs.

'There are no humanitarian weapons', Chief of General Staff Gen Franciszek Gągor tells Gazeta. 'Our munitions have inbuilt security features. If a missile doesn't explode, it will go into autodestruct mode after a specified period of time. So while this isn't a "humanitarian" weapon, it's a selective one. There's no possibility of it killing a person who happens upon an unexploded shell like this'.

Amnesty International believes otherwise. It has launched a campaign against the use of cluster munitions.

'According to what we know, as many as 40 percent of such bombs don't explode at once. They stay on the ground and then kill innocent people', says Monika Deptuła, AI spokesperson in Poland. 'The company producing these is interested in quoting its own figures. We believe this type of weapons is highly imprecise'.

0 Seven Polish soldiers acquitted of Nangar Khel wedding party killings

Seven Polish soldiers accused of war crimes in the Afghan village of Nangar Khel in August 2007 have been acquitted by a court in Warsaw due to “lack of evidence”.

The Circuit Military Court decided there was not enough evidence to sentence the soldiers and their commander.
Prosecutors had demanded between 5 and 12 years imprisonment for the men.
Six commandos serving in the 18th Stormtrooper Battalion from Biesko-Biala had been charged with manslaughter, with a seventh accused of “opening fire at an undefended object”.
The attack on what was actually a wedding party resulted in the deaths of six civilians, including a pregnant woman and three children, and seriously injured three other women.
The judge said today in his ruling that the court did not have access to proper documentation and was not able to establish precisely from where the shots had been fired, or the precise placement of witnesses.
The case had set a precident in the history of the Polish armed forces, said Judge Col. Mirosław Jaroszewski.
The sentence can be appealed by prosecutors.

Hague Convention
The trial began on 2 February 2009, and is the first such case in the history of the Polish Army where soldiers have been accused of breaking the Hague Convention and the killing of civilians as a result of war activity.
During the final hearings in the case last week, which was ongoing since 2009, Prosecutor Colonel Jabub Mytych judged the accused as guilty in the charges brought against them, and that the soldiers broke both the Geneva and Hague conventions, as well as Polish law.
“Stating that [the soldiers] were aiming at another target is merely a line of defence,” Colonel Mytych said.
On 16 August 2007, Polish military vehicles came under fire in the village of Nangar Khel, located in the Paktika province of Afghanistan.
In July last year, Wikileaks released documents on the incident with one confidential document declaring that, “[The Polish soldiers] fired a total of 26 rounds according to one report. They fired over and then short and then three rounds impacted within a compound. One impacted on the roof of the house, one impacted in the court yard, and the last went through the roof and detonated within the house. There was a wedding celebration going on in the house, which explains the high number of casualties.”
‘Fatal error’
During the case, Defence Minister Bogdan Klich stood by the accused soldiers, stating that they had performed a “fatal error” and as such should be judged as not guilty.
Klich made his point known back in December 2007 after meeting with US Army Colonel Martin Schuitzer, who was the Commanding Officer of Polish troops in Afghanistan at the time.
Colonel Schuitzer then conceded that American soldiers perform similar errors a few times a month, and that the Poles’ ‘accident’ in Nangar Khel was the first such incident to have taken place.

0 The Stage Is Set For a Nuclear False Flag (expanded)

The Intel Hub
By Alex Thomas
May 29th, 2011

The stage has been set for a nuclear false flag in America.
Many in the alternative media have wondered if a false flag nuke attack within America is a real possibility. Would they do it? Who would it be? What cities would be targeted?
Recently, The New York Times reported that the United States is running out of a rare gas that is used to detect smuggled nuclear materials.
The reason given is that one arm of the Energy Department is selling the gas much quicker than the other is able to accumulate it.
While this could possibly be a legitimate reason, it seems highly suspicious that a government that is installing a police state nationwide to supposedly save us from terrorists would be unable to obtain the gas needed to detect smuggled nuclear weapons.
Wouldn’t a nuclear attack on America be the MOST important threat to combat?
Unfortunately there is a long history of suspicious nuclear activity in the United States, with cover story after cover story being spread throughout the corporate controlled media.
At this junction in history it seems prudent to lay out some of the more ludicrous stories that have been planted into the minds of the American people.

 Laying The Groundwork

One of the more recent nuclear cover stories was released in late March. This story was just that, a complete and utter fabrication of what Al Qaeda can actually do.
25 letters that claim nuclear bombs are hidden throughout the United States were supposedly sent to multiple investigators and citizens in the Chicago area.

“The idea that Al Qaeda could place over a hundred nuclear weapons into government buildings throughout the United States is 100% impossible. Cave dwelling ninjas do not have the ability to either steal or create nuclear weapons, fly them over to America, and somehow plant them in government buildings.”
Last year Obama labeled a nuclear attack on America as the biggest single threat facing our nation yet we are unable to obtain the gas used to detected them?
Calling terrorists with nuclear weapons “the single biggest threat to U.S. security,” Obama said that the “central focus for this summit is getting the international community on the path in which we are locking down that nuclear material in a very specific time frame with a specific work plan,” Politico reported in 2010.

In late July 2010, The National Research Council released a report titled, Nuclear Forensics: A Capability at Risk.
The report outlined the fact that the United States is no longer able to track nukes threatening our shores!
Gordon Duff, writing for Veterans Today, speculated that this was a cover that could be used in the event of a false flag nuclear attack:
“A powerful group within the United States, one with influence over the press and the ability to derail an investigation as was done with 9/11, has been “tasked” with laying the groundwork for a terrorist attack on America, one using nuclear material.”
In the same article Gordon wrote about a somewhat unknown raid that took place in Indiana that he believes was related to smuggled nuclear weapons.
“Another piece of the puzzle involved a federal task force, Defense, Energy, FBI, descending on a warehouse in Greenfield, Indiana under the guise of a “records search.”  This “Waco style” assault on a facility storing furniture for college dorm rooms was much more than it seemed.  No case, criminal or civil, provided any underlying reason for the search.”
In 2002, World Net Daily reported on a book by an FBI consult that claimed that Osama Bin Laden had bought 20 suitcase nukes from KGB agents in 1998!
A new book by an FBI consultant on international terrorism says Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida terrorist network purchased 20 suitcase nuclear weapons from former KGB agents in 1998 for $30 million.
The book,“Al Qaeda: Brotherhood of Terror,” by Paul L. Williams, also says this deal was one of at least three in the last decade in which al-Qaida purchased small nuclear weapons or weapons-grade nuclear uranium.
Obviously this book was one of the first attempts to implant the possibility of Al Qaeda nuking the U.S. into the minds of the American people.
And then there is the now infamous 2007 Minot Air Force Base fiasco which involved nuclear weapons that were apparently missing for up to 36 hours.
“According to a wide range of reports, several nuclear bombs were “lost” for 36 hours after taking off August 29/30, 2007 on a “cross-country journey” across the U.S., from U.S.A.F Base Minot in North Dakota to U.S.A.F. Base Barksdale in Louisiana.
Reportedly, in total there were six W80-1 nuclear warheads armed on AGM-129 Advanced Cruise Missiles (ACMs) that were “lost.” The story was first reported by the Military Times, after military servicemen leaked the story,” reported Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya.

                              Drills

Hundreds of large scale simulated nuclear drills have taken place in America and abroad during the last ten years.
One of the more ominous drills, TopOff 4, took place in Portland Oregon. The exercise simulated a large scale dirty bomb attack in the heart of downtown Portland.

Expected radioactive plume and “kill zone,” for Portland Oregon.

The Oregon fact sheet on the exercise read like a Hollywood movie.

Remember we have lost most of our freedom due to the threat of terrorism yet we are supposed to believe that cave dwelling terrorists can outmaneuver multiple western intelligence agencies.
The T4 full-scale exercise is based on National Planning Scenario 11 (NPS-11). Terrorists have planned attacks in Oregon, Arizona, and the U.S. Territory of Guam. They have brought radioactive material into the United States.
The first of three coordinated attacks occurs in Guam, with the detonation of a Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD), or “dirty bomb,” causing casualties and widespread contamination in a populous area. Within hours, similar attacks occur in Portland and Phoenix.
Interestingly enough, the drill took place at the same time as Vigilant Shield, a massive operation which simulated detonation of three radiological dispersal devices within the USNORTHCOM and U.S. Pacific Command areas of responsibility.
A quick search of the internet will reveal hundreds of similar drills in numerous different cities all with the same mind set. A mind set that is based off the false premise that terrorists can obtain nuclear material without the help of major governments.

              Predictive Programming

The corporate controlled media and Hollywood have played a huge part in implementing a possible terrorist nuclear attack into the minds of people worldwide.
This idea is not only an American fear mongering operation.
Operation Blackjack, a set of slide show comics that depicted nuclear bombs detonating in major cities throughout the world, was mysteriously released in 2009 by The London Telegraph.
The slide shows had numerous embed codes and symbolism that to some indicated it was a very real operation that would happen on June 22nd 2009 or 2010.
Obviously those dates have come and gone but the IDEA that this could happen was cemented into the minds of the hundreds of thousands who read the comic like slide shows.
Interestingly enough, Jericho, a popular TV show in America, depicted a very similar scenario as Operation Blackjack.

The nuclear attacks in Jericho were actually carried out by rogue elements of our government who immediately instituted a North American Union, martial law, FEMA Camps, and private military death squads.
Doctor Who, a popular family show in Britain ran an episode that is a clear cut case of predictive programming. Nuclear attack, martial law, and labor camps!

While the sheer amount of predictive programming in regards to nuclear attacks makes it impossible to list them all, these three paint a clear picture of the mind control that we the people have experienced.

                        Questions Remain

It is clear that the groundwork and cover for a nuclear false flag in a major American or European city has been slowly put into place.
Many questions remain. Will the numerous hardworking, patriotic Americans in the government and military stop such a horrific act from happening?
Will the powers that be realize that the blame for such an attack would be pointed directly at them?
Will a different, more feasible, false flag be used instead?
These are questions that must be answered. We the people must let it be known that we will no longer stand for any form of false flag terrorism.
Take note America, as we continue to lose our freedoms in the name of security, we have become more vulnerable then ever to a large scale false flag on par or more extreme than 9/11.

Add to the above that during late 2005 the below was a pretty large story, which has since been gradually overlooked/buried by mainstream media:

NYC Israeli Embassy Source of
“Stunning Radiation Pike”

An anti-terrorism aerial sweep of New York City to determine potential sources of ‘dirty bomb” atomic material, has shown the Israeli embassy to be the source of a “stunning spike” in radioactivity levels on Manhattan’s East Side.

Israeli Consulate

There is, of course, no reason at all for any embassy to be storing or using radioactive materials to such a degree that they would be visible in such heavy concentrations as to be visible on such an aerial sweep. The only possible explanation for this spike is that it forms part of a deliberate stockpile, which fuels allegations long made that the Israeli secret service, Mossad, uses radioactive materials in order to silently eliminate opponents.

Conspiracy theorists see the radioactive spike as the preparations for an Israeli false flag operation for a “dirty bomb” attack which could be blamed on Iran. There is however, at this stage, no evidence to support such an allegation, as tantalizing as it may be.,

The radioactive levels were briefly reported in one newspaper, the Ney York Sun, but since then, a media blackout has been placed on the story, a good indication that the NY Sun stumbled upon a story which the Jewish-controlled media does not want publicized., Officials would not comment on why they thought that particular area allegedly showed such a stunning peak in radiation,” said the NY Sun story, continuing: “The aerial survey is designed to help local officials react more quickly in the event of terrorists detonating a "dirty bomb" that releases radioactive material into the air.

With the survey, police may be able to pinpoint the exact source of radiation by comparing new readings to their pre-existing "radiation map" of the area., NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said the department wanted a record of the city's naturally occurring and other "radiological signatures" to compare with periodic readings it does to detect for dirty bombs or other nuclear devices.

"It gives us a baseline so we can pick up any anomalies," he said., New York is the first and only U.S. city to conduct a complete aerial radiological survey, having paid the U.S. Department of Energy $800,000 for the 2005 study.

Here are the major Crop Circles from April/May in UK. Please sub. to follow this exciting yearly event.

Hackers launched a "significant and tenacious" cyber attack on Lockheed Martin, a major defense contractor holding highly sensitive information, but its secrets remained safe, the company said Saturday.

Lockheed Martin, the and the Pentagon confirmed that the contractor's information systems had come under attack. Lt. Col. April Cunningham, speaking for the Defense Department, said the impact on the Pentagon "is minimal and we don't expect any adverse effect."
Still, the concerted attempt to breach the contractor's systems underscored the risk to the nation's critical defense data. Chris Ortman, Homeland Security spokesman, said his agency and the Pentagon were working with the company to determine the breadth of the attack and "provide recommendations to mitigate further risk."
said in a statement that it detected the May 21 attack "almost immediately" and took countermeasures. As a result, "our systems remain secure; no customer, program or employee has been compromised." The company's security team is still working to restore employee access to the targeted network. Neither Lockheed Martin nor the federal agencies revealed specifics of the attack.

0 'East River Monster' Is No Mutant

Credit: Youtube

The body of a massive, bony creature was spotted in New York City's East River and dragged onto a beach on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge May 21. Onlookers assumed it was some sort of mutated animal and dubbed it "the East River monster."
Marine biologists, however, knew immediately what they had on their hands.
When the carcass, estimated to be 6 to 7 feet long, was first found, it was believed to be some sort of marine mammal. Photos of the creature were sent to the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation for identification.
"We could tell it was an Atlantic sturgeon right away," Kim Durham, a rescue program director and biologist for the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation in Riverhead, N.Y., told Life's Little Mysteries. "They have bony plates all over their bodies. There's no mistaking a sturgeon."
As for the fish's frightening size, sturgeon have been known to grow up to 12 feet. Although this one was only half that length, Durham described it as "pretty impressive." [Read: Can a Goldfish Really Grow to 30 Pounds?]
This isn't the first monster fish to wash up in the area. In July 2008 the infamous Montauk Monster — a dead, yet-to-be unidentified creature — washed ashore on a Long Island beach near Montauk, N.Y.
And there may be more East River monsters to come. Atlantic sturgeon used to be more common in the East River, but their population has declined over the years due to overfishing, according to Durham. It's possible that their numbers are starting to recover, Durham said, which might explain why the massive fish mysteriously appeared.
Here, a video of onlookers inspecting the East River Monster:

0 The Single Most Important Speech Any American Will Ever Hear. 25/5/11

The Defense Authorization Act or H.R. 1540, aka The Forever War Act of 2012, was overwhelmingly approved by the House of Representatives earlier today on a vote of 322 to 96.

The Senate will now vote on its own version and then the two bills will need to be reconciled before going to Barry Obama for his signature into law.

The law authorizes the United States to use military force anywhere it says there are terrorists, including within the borders of our own country. It represents the largest hand-over of unchecked war authority from Congress to the executive branch in modern American history.

The founders were seriously opposed to handing this much power over to executive, fearing tyranny. If enacted into law, this provision will make Obama a dictator who can wage war without the consent of the American people.

0 Now that's Comedy!!!.

0 Drug May Help "Overwrite" Bad Memories

Recalling painful memories while under the influence of the drug metyrapone reduces the brain's ability to re-record the negative emotions associated with them,

according to University of Montreal researchers at the Centre for Studies on Human Stress of Louis-H.Lafontaine Hospital. The team's study challenges the theory that memories cannot be modified once they are stored in the brain.
"Metyrapone is a drug that significantly decreases the levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that is involved in memory recall," explained lead author Marie-France Marin. Manipulating cortisol close to the time of forming new memories can decrease the negative emotions that may be associated with them. "The results show that when we decrease stress hormone levels at the time of recall of a negative event, we can impair the memory for this negative event with a long-lasting effect," said Dr. Sonia Lupien, who directed the research.
Thirty-three men participated in the study, which involved learning a story composed of neutral and negative events. Three days later, they were divided into three groups -- participants in the first group received a single dose of metyrapone, the second received double, while the third were given placebo. They were then asked to remember the story. Their memory performance was then evaluated again four days later, once the drug had cleared out.. "We found that the men in the group who received two doses of metyrapone were impaired when retrieving the negative events of the story, while they showed no impairment recalling the neutral parts of the story," Marin explained. "We were surprised that the decreased memory of negative information was still present once cortisol levels had returned to normal."
The research offers hope to people suffering from syndromes such as post-traumatic stress disorder. "Our findings may help people deal with traumatic events by offering them the opportunity to 'write-over' the emotional part of their memories during therapy," Marin said. One major hurdle, however, is the fact that metyrapone is no longer commercially produced. Nevertheless, the findings are very promising in terms of future clinical treatments. "Other drugs also decrease cortisol levels, and further studies with these compounds will enable us to gain a better understanding of the brain mechanisms involved in the modulation of negative memories."

0 'Heavy-handed' police scrambled helicopter to hunt schoolboy whose football broke greenhouse window... and now he faces life-long 'criminal record'

But greenhouse owner says she is glad to see 'justice done'

A schoolboy faces a lifelong 'criminal record' after a police helicopter and riot van were scrambled to hunt him down - when he accidentally kicked a football at a greenhouse.
Tom Clarke, 15, was horrified when he miskicked the ball and it looped over a garden fence and smashed a greenhouse window pane.
Just 30 minutes later, a police helicopter was spotted hovering above the house using thermal imaging cameras to search for him.
Two patrol cars and a riot van were also dispatched to search nearby gardens in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, on foot.
A pair of uniformed officers eventually tracked Tom down and he apologised to the greenhouse owner.
But days later, Thames Valley Police sent a letter to Tom's father telling him his youngster had 'accepted responsibility for criminal damage'.
Police said the incident was not a conviction but would be informally 'recorded for future reference' and could count against him by future employers carrying out extensive CRB checks.
Tom may now be considered unsuitable for jobs involving children and young people when he applies for work in the future.

The letter also warned Tom he could face an ASBO if his 'behaviour does not improve'.
However the owner of the greenhouse, Bobby Cellar, 67, said she was happy to see 'justice done'.
She said: 'I've had enough. Someone could have been in the greenhouse at the time and got hurt.
'In my mind it's criminal damage and that's the law, I just wanted to see justice done.'
Yesterday, Tom's furious father, bus driver Darrin, 42, branded the police reaction 'extremely heavy-handed'.
He said: 'Tom is a good lad, he's never been in trouble with the police or at school and he works hard.
'Now he's been told his future work life is at risk because of a stupid accident playing football. It's extremely heavy-handed.
'The police helicopter was about 20ft above the ground and I saw a riot van circling the area along with two patrol cars.

0 Iceland's Grimsvotn volcano erupts

Ash from a massive plume of smoke from an eruption of Iceland's most active volcano could spread south to parts of Europe next week, but experts on Sunday still hoped the impact on air travel would be limited.

The eruption at Grimsvotn has so far hit only Iceland, where the civil aviation authority said the prospects for re-opening the main international airport on Monday were not good.
A thick cloud of ash blocked out the daylight at towns and villages at the foot of the glacier where the volcano lies and covered cars and buildings.
The eruption was much stronger than the one at a volcano further south last year which closed European airspace and halted transatlantic flights, due to worries particles could get into engines and cause accidents.
Iceland's meteorological office said the plume from Grimsvotn, which last exploded in 2004, had fallen to 10 to 15 km in height from a peak of 25 km (16 miles).
Europe's air traffic control organization warned on its website of a possible spread.
"Ash cloud is expected to reach North Scotland on Tuesday 24th May. If volcanic emissions continue with same intensity, cloud might reach west French airspace and north Spain on Thursday 26th May," it said in a traffic bulletin.
Others said the impact on air travel this time would be more limited as winds were more favorable, the content of the plume was heavier therefore less likely to spread and authorities now had a higher tolerance for ash levels.
"It could lead to some disruption, but only for a very limited time and only over a very limited area," said University of Iceland Professor of Geophysics Magnus Tumi Gudmundsson.
"We see some signs that the power is declining a bit, but it is still quite powerful," Gudmundsson said, adding that the eruption was the most violent at the volcano since 1873.
Icelandair, the main airline on the island, stopped flights on Sunday and said on its website the halt could continue on Monday. It said 6,000 passengers had been affected by cancellations so far.
BLACK AS NIGHT
Gudmundsson said the wind direction was different this year, meaning the ash was falling mainly around Iceland. "But also very importantly the rules that apply today and the models are very different. The tolerance is much higher," he said.
Dave Mcgarvie, volcanologist at Britain's Open University, agreed. He said any ash which reached Britain would be less than last year and added that experience gained since the 2010 eruption would lead to less disruption.
In emailed comments, he said "minor re-routing" should enable aircraft to avoid zones where ash is concentrated.
The new eruption at Grimsvotn, which last exploded in 2004, sent up a huge bubbling mass of ash and smoke, which seeped above the clouds high over the North Atlantic island.
Grimsvotn lies under the Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland, the largest glacier in Europe.
Areas to the south of glacier have been covered in thick layers of ash and the sun was blocked out for several hours.
"It was like night is during the winter," said Benedikt Larusson, speaking in the town of Kirkjubaejarklaustur.
"Now it is a little bit better. Now I can see about 100 metres, but before it was about 1 meter."

0 It's Official! Apple user's are not a "cult"...... more a "religion".

Scientists reckon Apple directly works on the bits of our brains that deal with religion, according to a BBC programme investigating brands.

Secrets of the Superbrands shoves an Apple acolyte into a brain scanner and records the physiological effect of gadget lust, with fascinating results.
Shown on BBC Three last night and available on iPlayer until 9 June, Secrets of the Superbrands shows tech-baffled presenter Alex Riley exploring the appeal of brands such as Nokia, Google and Microsoft. He starts the programme, and the series, with the world's biggest brand: Apple.
When asked what that person would be like if Apple was a person, answers ranged from, "spoilt... kind of snobby," to, "the sort of person who might invite you to their birthday party, but when you got there you'd be doing everything they wanted to." To investigate the cult-like following of the fruit-flavoured phone-flogger, the show gives an Apple apostle's bonce a once-over.
World of Apple blogger Alex Brooks, who's been to 30 Apple Store openings around the world, is bunged into an MRI machine to have his brain scanned for physiological responses to Apple. When shown pictures of Apple products, there's increased activity in the visual centres of his brain.
Saint Steve
Comparing the Apple fan's brain scan with the noggin scans of religious folk, neuroscientists noticed similar effects. Apple is often described as a 'cult', complete with temples, devotees and its own messiah in the shape of St Steve of Jobs -- not to mention the hysteria and madness surrounding every new product launch.
The programme witnesses this hysteria first-hand at the launch of the Covent Garden Apple Store alongside CNET UK's own Luke Westaway -- that's the back of Luke's indie feathercut taking pictures at 08:14 -- where Riley begins chatting with an employee of the store. Seconds into the interview, someone whispers in the Apple chappie's ear and he disappears, mindful of the code of omerta that Apple employees never talk to the press. That's unless they're anonymously spilling the beans, of course.

0 Secret Service interrogates 7th grader over innocent Facebook Status

A Tacoma seventh grader faced federal interrogation at school for what he posted on his Facebook page.  His mom said it all happened without her knowledge or permission.

Timi Robertson said she had just finished lunch with a friend Friday when she got a phone call from her son's school.
"I answered it, and it's the school security guard who's giving me a heads up that the Secret Service is here with the Tacoma Police Department and they have Vito and they're talking to him," Robertson said.
After Osama bin Laden was killed, 13-year-old Vito LaPinta posted an update to his Facebook status that got the Feds attention.
"I was saying how Osama was dead and for Obama to be careful because there could be suicide bombers," says LaPinta.
A week later, while Vito was in his fourth period class, he was called in to the principal's office.
"A man walked in with a suit and glasses and he said he was part of the Secret Service," LaPinta said. "He told me it was because of a post I made that indicated I was a threat toward the President."

The Tacoma school district acknowledged a Secret Service agent questioned Vito and that it was a security guard who called Vito's mom because the principal was on another call. The school district said they didn’t wait for Vito’s mother to get there because they thought she didn't take the phone call seriously.
"That's a blatant lie," Robertson said.
The teen’s mom says she rushed to Truman Middle School immediately and arrived to discover her son had already been questioned for half an hour.
"I just about lost it," she said. "My 13 year-old son is supposed to be safe and secure in his classroom and he's being interrogated without my knowledge or consent privately."
The seventh grader said that once his mom showed up, the agent finished the interview and told him he was not in any trouble. Now he's more careful about what he posts online.
His mother says she isn't financially able to take legal action but hopes her family's story raises awareness about the treatment she said her son endured.

0 FLASHBACK 2006: Ray McGovern owns Donald Rumsfeld with one question.

The Daily Show had a grand old time of picking apart Rumsfeld and the blatant ass kissing media over Ray McGovern's question to "the Donald." After Rumsfeld denies saying he told us where WMD's were in Iraq. He plays older tape of Rummy telling us he knows ..

                   EXACTLY WHERE THEY WERE!

0 CDC Warns Public to Prepare for a 'Zombie Apocalypse'

Are you prepared for the impending zombie invasion?

That's the question posed by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention in a Monday blog posting gruesomely titled, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse." And while it's no joke, CDC officials say it's all about emergency preparation.
"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for," the posting reads. "Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."
The post, written by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan, instructs readers how to prepare for "flesh-eating zombies" much like how they appeared in Hollywood hits like "Night of the Living Dead" and video games like Resident Evil. Perhaps surprisingly, the same steps you'd take in preparation for an onslaught of ravenous monsters are similar to those suggested in advance of a hurricane or pandemic.
"First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house," the posting continues. "This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp (or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored)."
Other items to be stashed in such a kit include medications, duct tape, a battery-powered radio, clothes, copies of important documents and first aid supplies.
"Once you've made your emergency kit, you should sit down with your family and come up with an emergency plan," the posting continues. "This includes where you would go and who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your doorstep. You can also implement this plan if there is a flood, earthquake or other emergency."

The idea behind the campaign stemmed from concerns of radiation fears following the earthquake and tsunami that rocked Japan in March. CDC spokesman Dave Daigle told FoxNews.com that someone had asked CDC officials if zombies would be a concern due to radiation fears in Japan and traffic spiked following that mention.
"It's kind of a tongue-in-cheek campaign," Daigle said Wednesday. "We were talking about hurricane preparedness and someone bemoaned that we kept putting out the same messages."
While metrics for the post are not yet available, Daigle said it has become the most popular CDC blog entry in just two days.
"People are so tuned into zombies," he said. "People are really dialed in on zombies. The idea is we're reaching an audience or a segment we'd never reach with typical messages."

0 The Queens visit Dublin- Irish flag banned under Public order offence

The powers that be have made the carrying of the Irish flag a Public order offence under section 21.I had earlier not consented to a search and was threatened with arrest under this act also.
http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1994/en/act/pub/0002/print.html#sec21

There is nothing under this section in the "act" that supports the banning of the flag??.....perhaps she got confused,
she may well have meant "section 7"
which states :
"Distribution or display in public place of material which is threatening, abusive, insulting or obscene."
section 7.(1) It shall be an offence for any person in a public place to distribute or display any writing, sign or visible representation which is threatening, abusive, insulting or obscene with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.

0 NATO airstrikes hit government buildings in Tripoli...destroying Police & Watchdogs investigations

Firefighters worked to douse flames as passersby gathered to gawk at the site of a pair of heavily damaged government buildings that Libyan officials said were hit early Tuesday by NATO warplanes.

One building housed a police investigations office whereas the other, just across the street, was known as the Ministry of Popular Inspection and Oversight, a watchdog agency that reviewed complaints of government and private-sector corruption, said Musa Ibrahim, a Kadafi government spokesman.

Flames engulfed both structures, in a residential neighborhood of the capita, as journalists arrived on the scene. Government officials have been busing journalists to sites they say have been hit by NATO warplanes.

On Monday evening, several loud explosions had been heard across Tripoli.

There was no word on casualties at the two sites. NATO had no immediate comment.

Among the watchdog agency’s many files, the Libyan spokesman said, were documents detailing the corruption of ex-regime  officials who have switched sides and joined the rebels fighting to overthrow Moammar Kadafi. The rebel leadership in the eastern city of Benghazi probably convinced NATO to target the ministry in a bid to destroy the evidence, Ibrahim alleged.

“In Benghazi you  are dealing with people you should not trust,” the government spokesman declared in a message directed to NATO.

The files, he said, had survived and would be made available to Western governments if they were interested.

0 IMF head Strauss-Kahn pulled off plane, arrested in alleged sodomy of hotel maid

The French political bigshot who heads the International Monetary Fund was arrested for allegedly sodomizing a Manhattan hotel maid today — hauled off an Air France flight just moments before takeoff from Kennedy Airport, police sources said.

Three Port Authority detectives pulled Dominique Strauss-Kahn from the plane’s first-class cabin just two minutes before it was due to depart for Paris, according to police sources.

For some reason the NY Post Could not find this more Recent Photo.

Strauss-Kahn, 62 — who was expected to challenge Nicholas Sarkozy in the 2012 French presidential election — was turned over to NYPD officers and brought to the Special Victims Unit’s uptown squadroom.
The trouble began around noon, when a 32-year-old housekeeper entered Strauss-Kahn’s room at the Sofitel on West 44th Street — apparently unaware he was still inside.
The married Strauss-Kahn was in his bathroom, said sources. He emerged naked, grabbed her and "he jumps her," a source said.
Then, Strauss-Kahn allegedly threw the housekeeper on the room’s bed and forced her to perform oral sex on him, said the sources.

0 Secret 800 man Desert Force Set Up by Blackwater’s Founder

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Late one night last November, a plane carrying dozens of Colombian men touched down in this glittering seaside capital.

Whisked through customs by an Emirati intelligence officer, the group boarded an unmarked bus and drove roughly 20 miles to a windswept military complex in the desert sand.
The Colombians had entered the United Arab Emirates posing as construction workers. In fact, they were soldiers for a secret American-led mercenary army being built by Erik Prince, the billionaire founder of Blackwater Worldwide, with $529 million from the oil-soaked sheikdom.
Mr. Prince, who resettled here last year after his security business faced mounting legal problems in the United States, was hired by the crown prince of Abu Dhabi to put together an 800-member battalion of foreign troops for the U.A.E., according to former employees on the project, American officials and corporate documents obtained by The New York Times.
