With each passing year, the difference between America's prisons and America's public schools becomes smaller and smaller.  As you read the rest of this article, you will be absolutely amazed at some of the crazy things that school children in America are being arrested for.

When I was growing up, I don't remember a single police officer ever coming to my school.  Discipline was always handled by the teachers and by the principals.  But today, there are schools all over the country that have police officers permanently stationed in the halls.  Many other schools will call out police officers at the drop of a hat.  In the classrooms of America today, if you burp in class, if you spray yourself with perfume or if you doodle on your desk, there is a chance that you will be arrested by the police and hauled out of your school in handcuffs.  Unfortunately, we live in a country where paranoia has become standard operating procedure.  The American people have become convinced that the only way that we can all be "safe" is for this country to be run like a militarized totalitarian police state.  So our public schools are run like prisons and our public school students are treated like prisoners.  The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world by far, and our schools are preparing the next generation to either "do time" in the prison system or to live as good little slaves in the Big Brother prison grid that is being constructed all around us.  But what our schools are not doing is giving these children the critical thinking skills that they need to live as free citizens in a nation that used to be "the land of the free and the home of the brave".

Of course very few people would deny that the character of American schoolchildren has changed dramatically over the decades.  Back in the 1950s, some of the biggest school discipline problems were gum chewing and hair pulling.  Today, kids bring knives, guns and drugs with them to school.  Gang activity is rampant in many of our schools and in some schools kids are evenhaving sex in the school bathrooms.

So there is definitely a discipline problem in our schools.

But what is going on in many areas of the country is absolutely ridiculous.  For example, in 2010 alone police down in Texas issued an astounding 300,000tickets to school children.

Yes, if a kid pulls a knife on someone the police should get involved, but teachers and administrators should be able to use some common sense and handle the vast majority of discipline problems that happen themselves.

What you are about to read is absolutely going to amaze you.  The following are 19 really crazy things that school children are being arrested for in America....

#1 At one public school down in Texas, a 12-year-old girl named Sarah Bustamantes was recently arrested for spraying herself with perfume.

#2 A 13-year-old student at a school in Albuquerque, New Mexico was recently arrested by police for burping in class.

#3 Another student down in Albuquerque was forced to strip down to his underwear while five adults watched because he had $200 in his pocket.  The student was never formally charged with doing anything wrong.

#4 A security guard at one school in California broke the arm of a 16-year-old girl because she left some crumbs on the floor after cleaning up some cake that she had spilled.

#5 One teenage couple down in Houston poured milk on each other during a squabble while they were breaking up.  Instead of being sent to see the principal,they were arrested and sent to court.

#6 In early 2010, a 12-year-old girl at a school in Forest Hills, New York was arrested by police and marched out of her school in handcuffs just because she doodled on her desk. "I love my friends Abby and Faith" was what she reportedly scribbled on her desk.

#7 A 6-year-old girl down in Florida was handcuffed and sent to a mental facility after throwing temper tantrums at her elementary school.

#8 One student down in Texas was reportedly arrested by police for throwing paper airplanes in class.

#9 A 17-year-old honor student in North Carolina named Ashley Smithwick accidentally took her father's lunch with her to school.  It contained a small paring knife which he would use to slice up apples.  So what happened to this standout student when the school discovered this?  The school suspended her for the rest of the year and the police charged her with a misdemeanor.

#10 In Allentown, Pennsylvania a 14-year-old girl was tasered in the groin area by a school security officer even though she had put up her hands in the air to surrender.

#11 Down in Florida, an 11-year-old student was arrested, thrown in jail and charged with a third-degree felony for bringing a plastic butter knife to school.

#12 Back in 2009, an 8-year-old boy in Massachusetts was sent home from school and was forced to undergo a psychological evaluation because he drew a picture of Jesus on the cross.

#13 A police officer in San Mateo, California blasted a 7-year-old special education student in the face with pepper spray because he would not quit climbing on the furniture.

#14 In America today, even 5-year-old children are treated brutally by police.  The following is from a recent article that described what happened to one very young student in Stockton, California a while back....

Earlier this year, a Stockton student was handcuffed with zip ties on his hands and feet, forced to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was charged with battery on a police officer. That student was 5 years old.

#15 At one school in Connecticut, a 17-year-old boy was thrown to the floor andtasered five times because he was yelling at a cafeteria worker.

#16 A teenager in suburban Dallas was forced to take on a part-time jobafter being ticketed for using foul language in one high school classroom.  The original ticket was for $340, but additional fees have raised the total bill to $637.

#17 A few months ago, police were called out when a little girl kissed a little boy during a physical education class at an elementary school down in Florida.

#18 A 6-year-old boy was recently charged with sexual battery for some "inappropriate touching" during a game of tag at one elementary school in the San Francisco area.

#19 In Massachusetts, police were recently sent out to collect an overdue library book from a 5-year-old girl.

Unfortunately, what is going on in our schools is a reflection of the broader society as a whole.  Our schools are being turned into prisons because our entire society is being turned into a giant prison.

Our nation is rapidly heading down the toilet, and the children of this nation do not have a bright future to look forward to.

If the police really want to find some criminals, they should start investigating some of the sickos that are in charge of some of these classrooms.

It seems like almost every day now there is a news story about some public school teacher that is involved in some kind of really perverted stuff.

For example, just check out what police down in Los Angeles recently found that one teacher was hiding....

A former Los Angeles elementary school teacher has been arrested for felony molestation of nearly two dozen students, accused of gagging children and putting live cockroaches on some of their faces. Deputies say the crimes were committed on campus.

Sickos who do that kind of stuff to kids should be punished very severely.

America's schools are changing, and not for the better.

Personally, I went to public schools all my life, but I would not recommend that anyone send their kids to public schools today.  There is just way too much crazy stuff that goes on.

And our kids are learning less than ever in these public schools.  As I have written about previously, many of them are coming out of the system as dumb as a rock.  Instead of teaching our kids how to think critically and examine all sides of an issue, these schools are indoctrinating our kids and pushing particular social and political agendas on them.

There are a few public schools out there that are still good, but the vast majority of them are horrible.  They are not producing the leaders of tomorrow and they are not preparing the next generation with the tools that they need to survive in a complex world.

0 Analysis: Obama outs ‘secret’ CIA drone campaign – but do his words add up?

For more than a decade, lethal CIA drone strikes have remained a highly classified programme. Despite significant public awareness (helped along by leaks from the CIA, and Bush and Obama administration officials), the Agency’s stated position has been consistent: ‘We can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of any drones programme.’

The highly classified nature of the campaign in Pakistan and Yemen has been used to curtail scrutiny.  When the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International have sought details of the legal basis of the campaign, ‘state secrets privilege’ has been invoked.

So it came as a surprise to everyone when President Obama used a live ‘town hall’ webcam chat via Google on Monday night to talk – for almost four minutes – about the covert US drones campaign in Pakistan.

How come Obama can talk about the top secret campaign? It’s because he’s the President, it seems. White House press spokesman Jay Carney was evasive on Tuesday when asked whether Obama had made a mistake discussing the programme. According to the Washington Post Carney himself was ‘not going to discuss . . . supposedly covert programs.’ But he suggested that nothing Obama said was a security violation: “He’s the commander in chief of the armed forces of the United States. He’s the president of the United States.”’

Amnesty International has been quick to call for more information. ‘What are the rules of engagement? What proper legal justification exists for these attacks? While the President’s confirmation of the use of drones in Pakistan is a welcome first step towards transparency, these and other questions need to be answered,’ asked Amnesty’s Sam Zarifi.

The Claims

It’s worth looking in some detail at Obama’s comments. Do they stand up to scrutiny?

‘Drones have not caused a huge number of civilian casualties’
Highly questionable – as Russia Today noted, it depends how you define ‘huge’. The CIA admitted last summer, after the Bureau published its database on Pakistan drone strikes, that it had killed approximately 50 civilians during the campaign. The Bureau’s data indicates this to be a significant under-estimate. Between 464 and 815 civilians are reported by credible media as being killed since 2004 – 175 of them children. During Obama’s presidency alone, some 282-535 civilians have been credibly reported as killed. The CIA claims it has killed no ‘non combatants’ in Pakistan since May 2010 – despiteextensive findings to the contrary.

‘For the most part they have been very precise precision strikes against al Qaeda and their affiliates.’True, in the main. CIA strikes are still rare when compared to US or UK military operations. And the Bureau’s data indicates that the majority of those killed have been alleged militants belonging to various Afghan and Pakistan Taliban factions, and to a lesser extent al Qaeda.

‘This is a targeted focused effort at people who are on a list of active terrorists.’Historically untrue, although the US may have changed its targeting policy in recent weeks. From summer 2008 the CIA radically broadened its targeting policy, allowing crews to attack not only High Value Targets (senior militants) but also gatherings of unknown alleged militants. The majority of those killed in strikes in Pakistan have been anonymous individuals, whose names are unknown to the CIA.

‘Going after al Qaeda suspects, who are up in very tough terrain along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, for us to be able to get them in another way, would involve probably a lot more intrusive military actions than the one that we’re already engaging in.’
True. President Obama made clear even before he came to power that he would target militants in Pakistan’s tribal areas. Apart from the Osama bin Laden raid, Obama has steered clear of US Special Forces operations on the ground. Loathed as US drone strikes now are in Islamabad, US ‘boots on the ground’ would be far more controversial.

‘I think we are on the offence now, al Qaeda’s been really weakened. But we’ve still got a lot more work to do, and we’ve got to make sure that we’re using all our capacities in order to deal with it.’Reports have been circulating in Washington for weeks of a split among US policymakers. On one side are the ‘doves’ led by the State Department – keen for drone strikes to be tuned to US strategic needs and paused if necessary. The ‘hawks’ insist that the pressure is never let up, that victory is close. Obama is clearly Chief Hawk.

The Verdict


Do Barack Obama’s comments stand up to scrutiny? In short, mostly no.

The President appears to have fully bought in to the CIA’s view of drone strikes. ‘The really bad guys are being killed – and we know who we’re killing. Few civilians die. Al Qaeda is on the run – and is the target of the attacks. Halting the pressure now would be an error.’

Yet research by the Bureau and others shows that the CIA’s narrative needs to be urgently challenged.

There seems little doubt that US drone strikes will play a role in this year’s US elections. Obama’s public comments this week have not only ‘outed’ the once-secret campaign – but also placed the president at the head of those hawks pushing for their continued use in targeted assassinations.

Q (26.30): Mr President since you came to office you’ve ordered more drone attacks in your first year than your predecessor did in his entire term, these drone attacks casue a lot of civilian casualties, I’m curious to know how you feel they help the nation, and whether you think they’re worth it?

Obama: …As a general proposition, the question that was posed, I want to make sure that people understand actually drones have not caused a huge number of civilian casualties, for the most part they have been very precise precision strikes against al Qaeda and their affiliates. And we are very careful in how it’s been applied. So I think there’s this perception somehow that we’re just sending in a whole bunch of strikes willy nilly.

This is a targeted focused effort at people who are on a list of active terrorists who are trying to go in and harm Americans, hit American facilities, American bases, and so on. It is important for everybody to understand that this thing is kept on a very tight leash. It’s not a bunch of folks in a room somewhere just making decisions. And it is also part and parcel of our overall authority when it comes to battling al Qaeda. It is not something that is being used beyond that.

Q (28.22) (Second questioner): Mr President do you think that possibly these drone strikes, you know, do they send a message that the US is interfering in other counties’ affairs, because I feel like, regardless of how much we do, people in other countries might perceive that we’re interfering, and that might nt be good for us. Is there a way that we’re combating that?

Obama: 28.38 Well you know I think that we have to be judicious in how we use drones, but understand that probably our ability to respect the sovereignty of other countries and to limit our incursions into somebody else’s territory, is enhanced by the fact that we are able to pinpoint-strike an al Qaeda operative in a place where the capacity of the military in that country may not be able to get them. So obviously a lot of these strikes have been in the FATA, and going after al Qaeda suspects, who are up in very tough terrain along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, for us to be able to get them in another way, would involve probably a lot more intrusive military actions than the one that we’re already engaging in.

That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be careful about how we proceed on this, and obviously, you know, I hope, I’m looking forward to a time where al Qaeda is no longer an operative network, and we can refocus a lot of our assets and attention on other issues. But this is something that we’re still having to deal with, there’s still active plots that are directed against the United States, and I think we are on the offence now, al Qaeda’s been really weakened. But we’ve still got a lot [little?] more work to do, and we’ve got to make sure that we’re using all our capacities in order to deal with it. [ends at 30.18]

0 Man injuries himself with explosives...Police a little too understanding.

 An Indiana father is recovering from serious injuries he apparently received while working with explosive chemicals.

Bomb and hazardous device crews in Fort Wayne worked into the morning hours after police found a vast amount of chemicals and powders used to make explosive devices in the apartment.

Officers said it's not unusual for people to try to make bombs, but finds it strange the amount of chemicals they found in the apartment.

"Our officers, our bomb technicians have discovered several containers filled with unknown chemicals, several jars and vials, also filled with unknown powders," said Police spokeswoman, Raquel Foster.

Police became suspicious after a man called 911 saying he was hurt from an explosion. Turns out the man mixed two chemicals that hardened. He then started chiseling away at the rock hard mixture and it exploded.

"You have to envision what he was doing, he was chiseling away at this item," Foster said. "He was well within close proximity and suffered the extent of the explosion to his hand."

The man is still in critical condition and is so badly injured that police have not been able to talk to him. The man's two teens were also in the apartment. One was hurt, but is now out of the hospital.

Police do not know why the man had the chemicals or what he planned to do with them.

"Just the amount of the items that were located inside the home it's likely that this was a hobby," Foster said.

Once the investigation is complete the information will be sent to the Allen County prosecutor's office. Police said it's likely the man will face criminal charges.

Barack Obama has taken pandering to the Israeli lobby to shameful new levels.

In a frankly shocking video, even by US standards, in what I can only describe as one the most cynical pieces of electioneering I have witnessed in my lifetime,

Obama’s team has released a video re-affirming the USA’s special relationship with Zionism, and their unwavering commitment to supporting a state which draws legitimate comparisons to South Africa under apartheid.

All the usual clichés are thrown in – the ones that became the very backbone of his platitudinous speeches in the run-up to the election in 2008, which now make me fume whenever I hear them, and feel angry for allowing myself to be suckered like everybody else.

I, like millions of others, allowed myself to entertain the notion that this President might be different.

That was a mistake.

Fast forward to 2012 and we now have an administration which has continued with the direction and legacy inherited from the Neo-Cons and engaged in new conflicts.

We have the Obama campaign team once again stepping up their game with this new piece of propaganda, sending out a clear signal to Obama’s donors and supporters that he knows which side his bread is buttered on.

The same familiar mantra which in the one breath evokes one of the greatest human tragedies in history, but then, in the other, exploits that same sentiment to try to justify the persecution of Palestinian people is all too evident in the clip.

To be found in Obama’s video are testimonies from Shimon Peres, and Benjamin Netanayahu, and Ehud Barak, reiterating the extent to which the 44th President has safeguarded their interests.

Conveniently avoided is the subject of life for the Palestinian people, who continue to be illegally occupied and held under siege in an open air prison camp, which constitutes one of the most densely populated pieces of land in the world.

Israel’s right to exist, we are told by an ever eager President Obama, and her right to protect herself from any existential threat, is a priority for the US government.

The same ideology that once drew up the doctrine, which began this tragedy, is the same ideology responsible for the persecution of the Palestinian people and it is the real driving force and the politics, operating beneath the charade of the presidential race and indeed the presidency.

It’s the same influential power base that would ensure our government bent the rules around universal jurisdiction, so that the former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni could enter Britain and not face trial and responsibility for an Israeli assault on the Gaza strip that lasted 22 days and left hundreds of innocent people dead.

The same power structure that would see Theresa May struggle to justify the detainment of a spokesperson for the Palestinian people, in front of Keith Vaz in the commons, based on a charge which later proved to be without substance.

All of this barefaced hypocrisy underlines what many of us know. The current status quo regarding our perception of the Israel/Palestine conflict is as firmly rooted at the heart and soul of our political system as it ever was.

It’s pretty telling that within the British conservative party there is a ‘Friends of Israel’ but no ‘Friends of Palestine’, just the same as in the US, where you’re likely to see cozying up to Israel but no mention by Obama of the Palestinian children detained in solitary confinement in Israeli jails.

The Raab Collection has donated an original audiotape recording to the National Archives that includes taped conversations on President Kennedy's official airplane, "Air Force One," during its flight following his assassination on November 22, 1963. The conversations were between pilots and other individuals on the flight and various individuals in Washington, DC, on the flight back from Dallas, TX, to Andrews Air Force Base.

Background:

The Raab Collection recently discovered two ¼" open-reel audiotapes containing identical excerpts from the Air Force One flight on November 22, 1963, among the papers and other memorabilia of Army General Chester "Ted" Clifton, Jr. General Clifton served as senior military aide to President John F. Kennedy and had received the tapes from the White House Communications Agency (WHCA). The original audiotape recording is described as "Radio Traffic involving AF-1 in flight from Dallas, Texas, to Andrews AFB on November 22, 1963."

The conversations were captured by the WHCA, which routed all phone calls and radio traffic. The tape also includes communication between the WHCA and a second aircraft of the Presidential fleet, known as 86972 (by its tail number), which was en route to Tokyo at the time of the assassination with members of the President's cabinet.

The recording includes references to new code names and incidents. Among them are a private conversation by head of the Secret Service Jerry Behn about the disposition of the President's body; an expanded conversation about how to remove the body from the plane and where to take it; an urgent effort by an aide to Air Force Chief of Staff Curtis LeMay to reach General Clifton; and attempts to locate various Congressmen from Texas.

0 $50 F-BOMB: Cheap spying for stalkers, hackers, or cash-strapped feds

You learn bizarre trivia nearly every day, but a security researcher who won aDARPA Cyber Fast Track research award said, DARPA "loves terrible acronyms." With that in mind, Brendan O'Connor dubbed his new project the "F-BOMB" -- for Falling or Ballistically-launched Object that Makes Backdoors.O'Connor wrote on Times and Measures that DARPA likes the F-BOMB system and wants Malice Afterthought, O'Connor's security and software consultancy, "to develop the software command and control components to complement the hardware." Basically the F-BOMB is a $50 disposable 'spy computer' prototype. And it's very tiny -- only about 4 inches wide, 3.5 inches long, and not quite 1 inch high.

While the war-flying WASP, a Wi-Fi-sniffing drone, is very cool, it cost about $8,000 which most people can't afford to just throw away; O'Connor wanted disposable computing, built with cheap, COT (commercial off-the-shelf) parts which could readily be found anywhere — such as eBay, Craigslist, or Amazon. That way, if and when it's found by bad guys with guns, there is nothing to finger who the $50 device belongs to, O'Connor explained this past weekend at ShmooCon, the much beloved white hat security conference.

The Linux-based F-BOMB is designed to be highly configurable so it is capable of being something innocent like a barometer, or "install some Wifi-cracking software or add a $15 GPS module, and it can snoop on data networks or track a target's location." According to Forbes, O'Connor designed the cheap gadgets to be "dropped from a drone, plugged inconspicuously into a wall socket, thrown over a barrier, or otherwise put into irretrievable positions to quietly collect data and send it back to the owner over any available Wifi network."

The F-BOMB is made from a PogoPlug mini-computer, eight gigabytes of flash memory, some plastic casing, and an antenna that is "smaller than your little toenail." The cost is about $49 and it runs on cheap AA batteries. On the creepy surveillance-stalker side, it can send collected data, such as a target's GPS coordinates, back over a Wi-Fi network. If such a device were FedExed to a business, and a vacationing employee, penetration testers could record and transmit security vulnerabilities. The white hat hackers would have all the data they needed by the time the employee returned. Black hats or crooks could use it too. "It can fit whatever use case you want. Put it in a box of stale Triscuits in the office kitchen, and no one will touch it. Or hide it in a carbon monoxide detector and you can leave it there for months," O'Connor told Forbes.

A bit of irony on this whole surveillance-on-the-cheap is that when O'Connor is not doing client work, "he pursues his own research interests in identity and privacy." He is a University of Wisconsin law student and when he can find the time, he also works on "wearable computing, autonomous aircraft, and emergency and failsafe communication, the last facilitated by his Amateur Extra ham radio license."

There is a video and other details laid out on a Scribd presentation where O'Connor added that DARPA Cyber Fast Track "is like Cheers: Everyone knows your name! And where you live."
